European Glaucoma Research Training Program-Plus: EGRET+

We are looking for vision scientists, ophthalmologists or optometrists in the early stages of their scientific career, who have an interest in the field of Glaucoma research, hands-on experience with clinical ophthalmology/optometry and knowledge of the physiology, pathophysiology and measurement of intraocular pressure (IOP) in glaucoma.

The project deals with the compatibility of a novel telemetric IOP-sensor implant –developed and clinically tested by Implandata Ophthalmic Products GmbH – with other clinical investigations in glaucoma as well as interactions of basic physiology, IOP, and visual function in glaucoma.

Early Stage Researcher: Applicant must be qualified for PhD position and have worked in research for less than 4 years after his/her qualifying degree.

Mobility rule: Applicant cannot have lived for more than 12 of the last 36 months in the host country (Germany).

Additional requirements for this project: As you will be working and communicating with a set of elderly patients with limited knowledge of English language, at least basic knowledge of German language and/or willingness to learn German would be highly beneficial.
